How to Add Joint Account Holder in Indian Bank ?

In order to add Indian Bank joint account holder, you need to follow the steps given below :

1) Filling up Account Opening Form or Submitting the Passbook

Case 1 : If the Joint Account Holder does not have an Account with Indian Bank : If the person whom you want as the joint account holder does not have an Indian Bank account, then you must fill up Indian Bank Account Opening Form same as a new account holder. In this form you need to add the details of the Joint Account Holder(s). Dont forget to put a tick mark on the appropriate boxes and mention the type of joint account you would need from the options given i.e., Either or Survivor, Anyone or Survivor, Former or Survivor, Jointly, Jointly or Survivor.

Case 2 : If the Joint Account Holder already has an Account with Indian Bank : If the person whom you want as the joint account holder already has an Indian Bank account, then you would just need to carry the copy of his/her Indian Bank passbook. Kindly note that the data from the Account Opening Form will be used only for creating CIF(Customer Information File) Number.

2) Gathering the KYC Documents

Once you are done with filling up the form, you would need to gather the KYC Documents (For Address Proof & Identity Proof) of your Joint Account Holder(s).

3) Writing an Application to the Branch Manager

Write an Application to the Branch Manager of your Indian Bank Home Branch mentioning that you want to add a Joint Account Holder in your Indian Bank Account.

4) Submitting the Form & Documents to the Home Branch

Once you have the completely filled up Indian Bank Account Opening Form, KYC Documents and the application to add the joint account holder, you just need to visit your Indian Bank Home Branch and submit the documents to the accounts executive. Once the successful validation of all the details and documents of the Joint Account Holder(s) is done, the joint account holder will be added to your Indian Bank Account.
